When do I need supply air?
When many installations are required in a confined space, it is practical to choose a kitchen hood with a supply air terminal. This saves space and enables much simpler installation. When fresh air is supplied via the hood, it directly benefits the immediate work area and staff – exactly where the benefit is needed most.
Air terminals integrated into the sides of the hood
Our supply air hoods have a unique, draught-free air terminal with a distribution pattern that can easily be adjusted in just a few simple steps. Smart comfort nozzles provide kitchen staff with the freedom to control the air as needed.
The air terminal is a combined supply air and control air distributor. The control air, which makes up about 5% of the hood’s supply air, prevents leakage of contaminated air beneath the hood. This further increases the hood’s odour capture capacity.
Each air terminal is pre-set at the factory to the desired air flow, with a pressure drop of 20 Pa. On the back of the terminal there is an inspection hatch to enable internal cleaning of the supply air housing and adjustment of the air flow.
Our air terminals are fully integrated into the sides of the hood. The hood’s smooth lines and pure design help to give the kitchen a calm and airy feel. The air terminals can be placed on one or more sides of the hood, depending on your specific needs and preferences.
How the air terminal works
For effective preheating of the supply air, the terminal directs the air at an angle towards the ceiling, where it mixes with the warm air in the room before reaching the workspace at a comfortable temperature. The air movements in the staff zone are barely noticeable (< 0.2 m/s), thus providing a draught-free climate. The air terminals are impressively quiet when operating, which also contributes to a good work environment. Our air terminals are ideal for system solutions involving needs-based ventilation, as they operate within a wide flow range.
